CUGR Proposal Revision

September 26, 2019

Revise your proposal draft and Add…

Using at least 1-2 paragraph each, revise and improve your CUGR proposal draft. You should be clarifying your description as well as the problem/solution. Additional categories include 1) budget, 2) project timeline, 3) preliminary bibliography (this SHOWS it’s “research”–the R in CUGR= Research), and 4)  visual media/prototype designs. Submit this as a post/article to class website and personal Portfolio.

Abstract

Summarize what you intend to accomplish as concisely as possible. Be sure to indicate somehow how this relates to your values as clarified in your Design Guide Check.

Problem/Solution

Using sources that support your concerns about this issue/topic/problem, explain a problem or opportunity that your project addresses/solves.  Compare this to other existing projects that come closest to solving the problem you mention, and describe why your approach is better in specific ways. Your Humane Design work may give you some reasons. Explain how your solution will lead t better quality of life for your audience/users.

Budget

Create a real budget in Goggle Drive, and give both a direct URL as well as a screen shot of your Budget in your post. Base this on the Needs in your preliminary draft and other needs that arise.

Timeline

Create a Project Timeline with clear 1) Phases, 2) Tasks for each Phase, and 3) Milestones–where you achieve specific outcomes key to progress on your project. Take screenshots of your project and include in your CUGR Revision, and include a URL to your actual Project timeline.

Preliminary Bibliography

Include a list of sources, with quick descriptions of how they helped you develop your idea. eg “This article explains how most animation templates use racially “white” hairstyles” so I will have to create my own racial diverse “hair” to animate three of my characters.”

Media/Visualization

Provide images, video, charts, maps, drawings, visualization, prototypes, renderings, or any other type of visuals that will give a visuals senses of your project. You may include similar projects not just mock-ups of your own work.

To see how this material will be used, see the CUGR Final Proposal which will in turn build upon this draft.
