Task 11 Natural Light Portrait

Use the tips in this weeks reading of taking portraits in natural light.

Take enough photos so you end up with  4 really fine portraits using at least 4 of the techniques mentions in your readings. Put the techniques used into the caption of your images. You may want to try “burst” mode as you did with HDR images, as taking 3-5 photos in succession may capture the precise moment you want with your model/person, especially if that person is moving.

Techniques to try include:

  1. Fill frame with subject–or crop
  2. Capture a Mood
  3. Subject looking directly into camera–eyes in focus
  4. Shallow depth of field to blur background (large aperture)
  5. Hard Light for Happy or Melancholic Portraits
  6. Soft Light for  Relaxed and Flattering Portraits
  7. Side light for dramatic effect
  8. Blue hour or golden hour photos

Arrange the images in a single gallery with 2 image columns, full size images, and have them link to the media (vs the attachment page.  You should end up with a gallery that looks like the following:
