Image Editing with Lightroom
Your task this week is to use previous or capture new RAW images and take them trough an editing process in Lightroom. You should upload at least 4 sets of before/after images using the AddTwenty/20 button in the post editor.
Below is a common work order that will save time and processing. Try to follow this order when possible as you make your photos edits. You may omit many of these steps, but if you do any of them this order will help organize an efficient workflow. Critical steps are noted *
Be sure to export a version of the image before and then after the edits. (you can return to the before image in history, export, then return to the edited image and export that).
- Framing: Straighten and Crop*
- White Balance*
- Exposure*
- Contrast (Clarity/Levels/Curves, etc.)
- Saturation/Vibrance/Other Color Corrections
- Detail: Local Sharpening
- Noise Reduction
- Lens Corrections
- Final Framing: Rotate and Crop
- Refinements: selective enhancements
- Final Sharpening
- Resizing* for export
See also info about how to export so your images are web-sized jpegs that will upload easily and look good online.
