Danny couldn’t believe it. He looked down at the broken pieces of glass and the shattered screen that lay at his feet. The eyes of each of his classmates were staring down with him in complete silence. Somehow, Danny had managed to drop and shatter his laptop right as he was going to give his presentation to the entire class. Once the class finally got out, he started to [[wander]].

Danny didn't know what to do. He couldn't afford a new computer, and he needed it to pass the rest of his classes for the semester. His only hope was to talk to his friend, Sarah. She always seemed to have some sort of solution for his [[Sarah]].

Danny told Sarah to meet him in the library, where he explained his situation to her.
"Hmm," she thought to him outloud. I might have something that can help you."
"Really?" Exclaimed Danny. "What is it? An extra computer, or maybe an iPad."
"Not exactly," she replied as she began rummaging through her [[Contacts]].
Sarah pulled her hands out of her bag to reveil a single pair of small, clear contact lenses.
"Contacts?" But I don't even need glasses. What good are these going to do me?"
"They're not just any contacts," she said. My uncle has a startup company in Seattle, this is what they've been working on." He looked at the tiny lenses questionably.
"But what do they do exactly?"
"It's kind of hard to explain," Sarah said. "Just try them on tomorrow and see if they help you." Danny wasn't exactly confident in this plan, but he had to admit that he was out of options. Danny thanked Sarah and went back to his dorm room for the [[Morning]].
The next morning, Danny got out of bed and popped in the contact lenses. At first, nothing happened. Then after a moment, images started appearing in his vision, things that he'd only ever seen on a computer screen. But now they were in his head, being projected out his eyes. He went to the bathroom mirror. The mirror showed his reflection, but it also showed him the weather for that day, as well as his class schedule. Suddenly, the contacts started jittering, and his vision became pixelated. This only lasted a moment, however, and Danny just assumed this was part of the startup process. He left the bathroom and went back to his [[bedroom]].
In his bedroom, the contacts showed him the contents of his dresser just by looking at it. He could see how many shirts he had remaining, and how many pants as well. Danny couldn't believe how amazing these contacts were. He thought at best they'd help him be able to get through his classes, but these had the potential to change his entire way of life. After dressing, it was time for his first [[class]] of the day.
Danny soon realized in the first few moments of class that these contacts were going to make his life much easier from here on out. Not only was everything that the teacher was saying being recorded in text, but the contacts were also automatically taking notes from the projector by copying them down for him. After class, he decided it was time to get some [[food]], or maybe he wanted to find what else his new eyes had to [[offer]] him.
At the dining hall, the contacts showed Danny a chart of the required food that he needed for the day. Since he was pretty low, he decided to get a little bit of everything. After he had eaten, he decided to explore campus and see what else the contacts had to [[offer]] him. There were two path from the dining hall, and he wasn't quite sure which one he felt like [[walking]] down.
Danny wandered into an unkown building, with large windows. The sun was shining brightly through them, making Danny squint. But suddenly the sun began to fade, and he could see that the contacts had created a UV shield from the windows, acting as sunglasses. He grinned and continued [[on]].
Danny passed a birdfeeder with a small bird enjoying the birdseed it contained. Looking closely at the bird, Danny saw a small image appear of the bird in his vision, with text explaining what kind of bird it was, as well as some facts to go along with it. Danny thought about all the possibilities this feature could help him with as he kept [[walking]]. Danny also thought about the possibility fo getting some [[food]].
Danny kept going farther and farther into campus, until he had reached a point that he had never been to before. He came to the sudden realization that he was lost. Looking around, he tried to identify some sort of familiar marker. Just then, a GPS appeared in front of his eyes, and pointed him back to a familiar part of campus. Danny thought he saw his vision become static like before, but it happened so fast he wasn't sure if he'd imagined it or [[not]].
Once he got back to his dorm room, the static vision returned. At first it wasn't much, and he tried to shake it off. Suddenly it came in full force, blinding him with sudden flashing lights. He looked down at his hand to see all sorts of colors flying across his vision. He didn't know whether or not he should [[call]] Sarah, or try to find someone who could [[help]] him.
Danny reached for his phone to call Sarah as he began to fear for what might happen to him next. His vision began to get worse and worse as the phone rang once, twice, three times, then went to voicemail. He realized he was on his own, and decided the best optionw as to start looking for someone. He could either search the [[dorm]] or start searching [[outside]] for somebody that could help.
Danny left his dorm room in a rush and glanced around the hall. Even though he could barely see, he could tell that there was nobody around. He could either run [[outside]] to look for help, or keep searching the [[dorm]] for somebody. Either way, the only thing Danny was sure of is that he didn't have much time left. He had to make a decision fast.
Once Danny reached outside, the contacts began to malfunction even worse in the sun. Danny was almost completely blind staggering around campus. The only thing he could really make out was a path going [[left]] and [[right]]. The malfunctioning contacts were starting to make Danny dizzy, and he knew he wouldn't last much longer before he passed out.
Danny stumbled around the dorm the best he could, but he couldn't find anyone. He looked around frantically, but he could hardly make out anything. A ringing sound had began in his ears, and Danny felt himself fall to the ground, just as everything around him began to fade to [[black]].
Danny stumbled down the left path the best he could, but he couldn't find anyone. He looked around frantically, but he could hardly make out anything. The right path lead Danny to a building, where he barely managed to wrench the door open and get inside. With the biggest stroke of luck, there was somebody walking by once he entered.
"Help," he said lazily, as conciousness began to leave him. "I can't see...I'm...help." He tumbled to the floor and was enveloped in [[darkness]].Danny, [[wake up]]
Danny opened his eyes slowly. He was in a bed, with soft sheets pulled over him and propped up by a fluffy pillow. A woman in a labcoat emerged from behind a curtain drawn around him.
"W-what happened?" Danny murmured.
"You're lucky you managed to find someone before you passed out," she replied. "It seems you used a virtual augmenting technology that wasn't quite ready for consumer use." Danny rubbed his eyes. His vision was no longer blurry and glitchy. "We removed them, but it was a very difficult process. If you had tried removing them yourself, you could have damaged your eyesight permanently." Danny laid his head back on the pillow and let out a deep breathe. He had a lot to talk about with Sarah, but at least he'd learned the hard way that he was definitely going to need a new computer.
