The alarm blasted through your dreams with such completeness that your eye's opned instantly with alertness. The duty shift was about the start.
Pushing yourself out of bed, you begain your mental checklist and preparing yourself for the duty cycle.

(click:?left)[That was the wrong direction! The bridge was the other way].
The emergancy red lights were blinking down the contours of the hallway. Something was up. Running down the hallway, you glance quickly at the wall displays that occasionally ornemanted the walls. Normally they'd have shown views to the exterior of the ship. They were dark right now. Not even information was displayed. This was worrying. Very rarely did they get shut off.
The floor vibrated hard. It was the sound of the main fusion torch being lit.
The intercom shouted all around you, "Prepare for High G manuvers. All hands brace!"
This wasn't good.
[[prepare for high g manuver]]
[[keep running]]Heading the intercom's warning, you pull at a small box on your hip. Normally you would have strapped into a chair for the manuvers. Seeing as there were none in the hallway, you prepared for the second best option.
Every person on ship had the same sort of box. Inside of it was a high tension spring with a cord attatched. At the end of the cord there was a carabener. Pulling on the cord, you reach out and clip it to a set of rings that could be found every few feet down the hall's length, for just this purpose. Locking the carabener, you shuffle closer to the wall, took hold of the hand grips and curled your feet as best as possible to the foot holds as well.
An increasing vibration could be felt through the floor and walls. It was the main fusion torch. Suddenly, you could feel the hallway shift under you, and gravity began to shift from a downward force to pulling you back down the hall from where you came from.
Thanking yourself, you knew that if you hadn't clipped in, you would have been falling down the length of the hallway, most likely to your death. The restraint was pulled tight as your body uncontrollably sagged in the new downwards direction. Minutes passed.
The gravity slowly returned to the normal direction, and the all clear klaxon blared down the ship's length. Unclipping yourself, you renew your running efforts toward the bridge.
[[continue running]]You decided it was better to just keep moving. Ignoring the call over the intercom you pushed even harder towards the front of the ship.
The vibration intensified, and the hall suddenly started moving forward around you. Tripping on the floor, you stagger forward and fell down onto the hard metal grating.
The vibration grew greater still and you start to slide back down the hall the way you came. It was as if the ship had been stood on its end and you were sliding down its length. It was slow at first, then faster and faster.
With horror, you realize that the ship was now accelerating at over one gravity, and you were falling down the length of the ship. It was well over a hundered foot fall down the hallway shaft.
The far wall was approaching fast. There was no way you were going to survive.
Your scream was lost as the fusion drive accelerated even harder. Your life snuffed instantly upon impact.
Return to [[The time of starts]].It took only a few more moments to get to the bridge. Two security persons looked at you expectantly. Both were clipped into restraints on either side of the entrance. Their laser rifles glowing with charged readiness.
They looked at you expectantly. You have been here before, and knew what they wanted. No words were needed.
[[Tell them that you are busy]]
[[Hold out your hand]]
[[Throw a punch at the guard to the left.]]The guard on the left raised his eyebrow, and continued to not say anything.
The guard on the right said, "You know the proceedure, even if we are in battle mode."
[[Hold out your hand]]
[[Throw a punch at the guard to the left.]]You were having none of this. Bunching your hand into a fist, you lunge forward only to have the butt of a rifle make contact with your head.
A high pitched whining tone indicated that one of the rifles had discharged. Looking down you see a burnt hole in your chest.
They shot first, and weren't even going to ask questions. As your vision faded, you realized that perhaps you picked on the wrong people.
Return to [[The time of starts]]Obligingly you held out your left hand to the guard. The guard on the right pulled out a small scanner and passed it over your hand, more specifically where the identity implant was in your thumb.
The guard wordlessly nodded and pressed a button on the side of the door. It slid into the wall revealing a chaotic scene beyond.
[[go into the bridge]]Having finally made it, you step onto the bridge and look for your space. Suddenly there was a scream. Looking up at the view window, you realized with new horror what was happening.
A large object was bearing down on them. It looked like a ship. It also looked like it had wings. On closer examination, it was revealed to to have lauched missiles. Hundreds of missiles. Their exhaust were forming arcs away from the object's body, forming the illusion of wings.
Stopping in your tracks, you realize there was nothing you could do. Nothing could launch that much ordinance. Nothing he knew of could withstand it either.
You never had a chance. The world around you exploded in fire and pain, and then there was nothing.
