After watching the opening scene for Indiana jones I realized they did a really good job of introducing characters with little dialogue and just using expressions which is very important. It’s able to tell how the personality of a character without boring you with dialogue. Inja uses this technique properly and efficiently showing the development of characters. With Indiana Jones he shows how his very materialistic and shows a lot of trust in people. The setting was portrayed as dangerous and hectic with a lot going on. What’s visible to me as a viewer is how much struggle the main characters in both films have to go through. When they’re trying to convey stress, anxiety they use great close up shots to show emotion. The pace of editing picks up just a little as the pace of actions picks up which makes sense in both films. When shots change from face to action it shows progression in the scene and adds the right pace. The short film we watched I thought was really good It nailed all the fundamentals and used great techniques, even though it didn’t have the picture qualities that big name films have it certainly is still a great piece of work.
