Time Persists by Matthew Silva
Yes, there is dialogue in the sound of the film. The dialogue is heard alone just after the silence of the song. There are very few lines of dialogue making it very rare. Lines are spoken slowly or with regular breaks. And visual edits do typically occur when characters exchange lines such as cuts.
Yes, there are sound effects heard in the sequence. There is a significant amount of noise from the setting, objects, and other non-dialogue sounds. The music and leaves crunching are heard more promptly than others. Science is also an effect add to the plot of the story or serve to relay specific information to the viewer. It works to show how all those other sounds are specifically going away.
This film has custom played music on a xylophone. It is rather creepy how it is done, and it is slow and rather sad music. Music isn’t the forefront of the film, but it was the thing that gave me the most emotion to the film. The music does this by stopping. It was the silence just after the music that made me realize what this film was trying to say. And that was very affective.
The design of the sound serves the film well, especially the silence after the music. This effect is very creepy, something right from a thriller. Overall, I would say the sound is what makes this film what it is.

There is no dialogue in the sound of the film, instead everything is done with visuals and body language.
Yes, there are sound effects heard in the sequence. There is a significant amount of noise from the setting, objects, and other non-dialogue sounds. The sound of the bottle dropping if great and adds to the plot of the story or serve to relay specific information to the viewer, but this is especially because it keeps flowing out of the bottle, even though we don’t see it.
This film does not rely on music to tell its story, instead it relies on body language. And other visual elements.
For this film we really start to get where sound is important, I think the lack of music and dialogue is a pretty good idea, it does a great job and not completely telling the story for you, and allows you to be taken by surprise. And that is very effective.
