Analysis 4

I chose to focus on the elevator example we watched in class. This video was short but used comedy to keep the viewer’s attention. The protagonist was the man in the elevator. The crisis was the elevator ride he went through. The viewers could tell he was worried he wouldn’t make it out of his elevator ride, as he was estimating the weight compared to the capacity. To end the film, he leaves the packed elevator ride thinking he is safe but unknowingly ends up in one with sick people, to hold the humor in the film.

The lighting, color and texture was normal, it wasn’t darker or lighter than normal. There was a range of colors, but again nothing too bright  I think the director did this so the viewers weren’t distracted from the main joke.

There were many different cuts in this film, which kept my attention for longer. The directer didn’t move the camera a lot, just changed the shots. The distances were all close cut shots, and they all kept bringing a new person or thought into the film so it was continuously entertaining.

I like the humor of this film and the way it was filmed, it kept my attention while using a basic approach. The visuals didn’t stand out, as the cuts were short and the lighting was neither dark or light.
