The film Inja uses a variety of shots and metaphors to tell a story with little to no words. One of the most relevant metaphors being the change in flags in the slave owners property showing the change of time and split between countries ownership. secondly when the puppy is in the hands of the loving little boy his collar is made of rope but when the dog becomes loyal to the mean owner is collar is a bite collar which has prongs that dig into the dog’s neck if pulled on. Now for effective shots used, when the boy (now a man) and his owner go to work on a fence the director chose to use a pan shot to show how secluded they were which would later be relevant in the film. the last scene in the film is a still shot followed by a guy shot signifiy the boy listened and killed the dog which was able to be translated without actual footage.
Comparing Bambi to Inja both films use the tactic of focusing a shot off the more gruesome scene and using sound affects to portray in these cases Bambi’s mom being shot and the dog being beaten.
