Time persists:
Dialogue: There is almost no dialog in this short film. If anything there are a couple lines between a couple characters late in the film. The film is mostly quiet and when there is dialogue, all the focus is on the dialogue. The dialogue occurs occasionally and when it does occur it is at a slowish pace but also a regular pace. The camera would really focus on the face of the person talking and made sure everyone was looking at the person talking.
Effects: Throughout the film there is some creepy music being played on the xylophone. The background noise of footsteps and such is amplified to almost build suspense and help the audience stay focused. When the parents showed up the film got darker. So the darkness was there to show that in this case the parents are bad. The effects were pretty basic. When something bad was happening the mood was darker and when there was nothing bad happening the mood was brighter.
Music: There is music being played on the xylophone. This sets the creepiness of the setting. It’s very slow paced music so the pace of the film is slowed down. The music is a big part of the film as the pace of the film revolves around the speed of the music.
Literary: When the sound is the main part of the audio portion, the intensity of the film picks up pretty quickly. The music would adjust based on the mood of the film.

Dialogue: There is no dialogue in the entire film except for the woman briefly laughing on the phone. The woman laughing is the only sound present at the moment of her laughing.
Effects: The point of this film is to focus on the sound effects. The sound plays a key role in the success of this film. I feel like this film would work without any visuals. The sound is so rich and pure it would still tell a story without any visuals. From the footsteps to the head scratching, every bit of audio is picked up and clearly heard.
Music: There is no music in the film but I think that is completely okay. The film wouldn’t really work if there was music implemented into this film. The music would throw off the pace of the film as the sounds are so crucial to film that the sounds are what controls the pace of the film.
Literary: The sounds are what tells the story of the different characters. Some characters who are meant to be funny will give off funny sounds like the sound of liquid being spilt. It’s a very creative idea to shoot a film without any dialogue and in this case I believe it worked out great thanks to the creative sounds that were given off in the film.
