A. As one of my main characters is feline, filming was a bit tough. Especially since after an actual escape attempt, his owner and I decided that filming would have to come to an end. So although I did not get all of the shots that I would have liked to, I feel that I utilized the shots that I did get, well. Moreover, as I am admittedly a novice when it comes to audio editing, I utilized this short film to better familiarize myself with the ins and out of production. Most notably, the inclusion of a few different microphones types. I would also say that I learned that while I am not a total perfectionist, I did render this video out upwards of 20 times for the most minor of things.
B. I limited myself to only using prime lenses in this video. As such, I did have two shots that were slightly out of focus. I would say that these are the biggest problem points in my production. Furthermore, the 60 second time constraint led me to having to cut out a majority of the main character’s journey, thus cutting out a majority of the buildup and story for the piece. I tried to reconcile this fact with loud and brass-heavy music to give the piece a more full feeling. Finally, I tried to get a variety of shots, however, I am prone to capturing ground level shots, so I may have overdone it here. In spite of these challenges, I would say that I am partially satisfied with this finished product. I will be cutting up a longer version for my own portfolio though.
