Jacob DeRaps – Writing 3

For our project, we had a couple of different ideas. We started with OHOP, and Orono Brewing Company. We reached out to OBC and never got a response with them after we talked on the phone with them, and we figured OHOP was big enough, so we decided to switch it up and go with a different business and interview Pat’s Pizza. We all liked the idea of doing a pizza company so that’s what we stuck with.

The sounds that I think are associated with Pat’s are people talking and conversing, and possibly the sounds of them cooking and prepping food. The message that we wanted to get across was how Pat’s is one of the oldest pizza places around, originating about 80 years ago. Some music that would be good would be some slower music probably, just something to draw more attention in from the viewer.

The client of our film was Pat’s Pizza, but we interviewed the original owners grand daughter who is now one of the managers at Pat’s. The intended audience is really anyone in Orono who knows about Pat’s but doesn’t know their whole story. Most of our shots are just going to be pretty basic shots of the inside and outside of the restaurant. We also will have a lot of footage from our sit down interview with the manager. Most of our shots will be of inside the restaurant though. The inside of the restaurant has a lot of older vibes, giving us a nice back shot or b-roll opportunities.
