For our project, I did some of the camera work, Jared and Katie were both interviewers, Kyle contacted and arranged everything for filming, and Tyler also did some filming and editing. I don’t think we were well prepared for this project. The first day we went to film there were no tripods left to rent out so we had to do our b-roll filming all handheld which didn’t turn out to well. Also, I recorded from my phone for audio thinking that it would be fine because people usually do it with their iPhones, but after we recorded, the audio didn’t come out good at all.
For most of the project our group didn’t work together except for when we were filming mostly. I think the 2 times that we went to film were really possibly because of the team we had. If it had been just me I would have been very overwhelmed. One way I’d like to improve the production of my films is to be more prepared for the shots that I want to get. The message of our promo was to show how old the business is and how it has never really changed. We used a lot of the interview shots which turned out good and some of the b-roll shots. We didn’t use music for the video and the audio that we got was good audio, but just didn’t sound good at all. I think even with the audio being a little distorted, it still turned out pretty good for what we had.
