For our project, my main role was asking questions while filming, and interviewing most of the people in our film. Ben did all of the editing and provided the camera. Brody got all of the audio for our interviews. Marion directed and found people to interview. And Kyle was our cameraman for most of the shots. Most of the people we interviewed were college students, I also tried to interview other people working to get their perspective on whether a college degree is worth it, but none of them wanted to be filmed. We got a lot of footage of interviews but not so much b-roll so we could try to get everyone point across and I think it worked out good.
I wasn’t part of the editing for this project, but we didn’t have many things to change after our rough cut. We had to trim the video up a little bit more but other than that, it was good. I think that our film got the point across really good about how people feel about going to college, while we didn’t use much for other shots than the interviews, the film was very straight forward to understand what they were talking about. One thing that would have helped a lot with this project was if we were able to find someone that was working and get their input on our topic, but everyone we talked to did not want to be interviewed. Other than that, I think that our project turned out very well for our topic.
