Cailtyn and I collaborated between filming. We worked together to film interviews and finished the final cut video. I was properly prepared, we had all the equipment we needed for each part of the video, such as a LED attachable light for inside the van, and microphones for the interviews. In the labs we didn’t work on sound, but focused on color correcting. The sound came out well overall because we used two microphones to make sure everything was picked up clearly. The edit was completed with all of the video and sound elements, as said before , the sound didn’t need much editing but the color needed some correcting. For this group, I felt that the work was not completed effectively. The group benefited through collaborative work with things such as interviews and filming. With the interviews we all included different connections we had and with filming, we split up the work when others could not attend a session. For the next project I would like to work on communication, there was a lacking of it throughout the project making it hard to communicate all of our ideas correctly.
Our video portrayed the purpose of Late Night Local, and the experiences other people have had inside of the van. It was very beneficial so that other students know about it. The pacing of shots was good, I think we could have worked on making the flow smoother. Sound elements were clear, as we used the microphones for the interviews and filmed in quiet spaces. These interviews had strong and informational dialogue that students can benefit from. The video will create awareness and promote this organization. The Late Night Local group was very flexible and willing to have us film. They agreed to let us film the van and interview them.
