- Requirements – Comment on your ability to complete the projects appropriately.
- a. Were you properly prepared?
I think we were pretty well prepared, we did count on him getting shirts during filming which never ended up happening, so we lost some shots.
- b. Did you complete the sound work in lab?
Yes we did complete the sound work in lab.
- c. Was the edit complete with all of the appropriate visual and sound elements?
Yes it was complete with both elements.
- In what ways did the group work together effectively? What elements of the projects were possible through successful collaborative work? Give at least two examples.
I think we did a good job planning and establishing a sound idea we could work towards, in the past I felt like it was a more improvisational process than planned process.
- In what ways would you like to improve production or postproduction for the next project?
As it always is, it was hard to have everyone meet at the same place at the same time, there were times when only a couple of us could show up.
B. Video Analysis – Comment on the following elements in your evaluation:
- Full expression of the message and quality of the structure of the promo
I think the message is expressed, but there could be more overall structure to how the video plays out.
- Pacing of shots and sound
I think the pacing of the shots works well, as does the sound, that part hits home.
- Mix of sound elements
The hip-hop instrumental worked really well with the idea we were going for, and I think will help appeal to the audience he’d like to.
- Quality and use of dialogue
I think the dialouge came out really good as well, there was lots of good interview audio / video to use.
- Overall impact of video
I think the overall impact came pretty close to what we were shooting for, I feel like though it could’ve felt a bit more commercial-like rather than like a spotlight-type video.
C. Client Analysis – Include the critical reactions of the organization/client/group for whom the promo was made.
Finn was very pleased with the video and has used it for promotional use on the social media for the peage.
