Report 3-NateR

A. For project 3 my role was to be the lead editor. My job was to compile all of the footage that was captured and piece it together to craft a 2 minute video showing off the brand we chose to work with. I feel that I was properly prepared for the editing position as I have lots of experience with editing. However I was new to premier so when editing for this project I experimented with new effects and such. I had the audio and visuals all matched together appropriately. When working together it was a breeze coming up with an idea for the project. Instantly we all agreed to work with this clothing brand that Brody’s friend was in charge of. And since he was close friends with the person running the clothing brand we had no issues at all. One example was the filming. It was very easy for us to get footage as we all knew each other and could easily collaborate with each other. Another example of us working well together was the editing. We all sat down and went over how we wanted this commercial to be put together. There were no arguments as we were all in agreement right away with how we wanted it to look. Overall I felt that the preproduction and the postproduction was great the way it is. We had plenty of time to figure things out and I didn’t feel rushed when it came to editing.

B/C. The objective of this video was to get the clothing brand out there. There are somethings that the video lacked like a few more interview questions would’ve made it better and some of the effects could’ve been toned down a little. For only being 2 minutes long maximum, the pacing of the video worked out pretty well. The music blended well with what was being shown visually. We had over 10 minutes of dialog/interviews so I used the parts I thought would fit best with the rest of the footage. I’d say the overall impact was good. We got shots of the guy making his own brand and got answers on why he decided to start a clothing brand and what drives him to keep doing it.
