Report 4

Work Flow was an entertain project to work on. I did not get to do much editing in the semester’s previous group projects so that made this one a breath of fresh air and creative freedom.

Overall the project went off without a much of a hitch. I had problems with trying to get my volume levels to cooperate as I was using my Laptop’s built in mic but in the end it all worked out.

Work Flow

The shots in this video were intentionally designed to be stable jump cuts. The camera is always coming from the perspective of the laptop on which I am working and is kept as stable as possible. This puts as much focus on the actor (me) in the shot as possible by them being the only thing that changes from shot to shot. The only times this set up changes is out of necessity, such as a change in setting or some action, like playing video games, would otherwise be out of frame unless corrected. This stability of shot and the point from which it originates plays up the ever looming presence of the essay the MC is suppose to be working on always lurking behind him. This set up only goes away in the last two shots as those take place after the time of the essay being due has passed.
