A:

In project 2: The Umaine Bestiary, my role was that of the documentaries’ facilitator or “main character.” I played the role of “Bobby Boomerang” a Steve Irwin parody character who narrated the documentary and, at least in the narrative, guided the camera through multiple shots.

While the team had trouble meeting up to film and we dragged our feet slightly towards the beginning I fee l the group as a whole was a total success. Everyone contributed and everyone did well.

B:

The shot structure of the mockumentary worked out well. All B-Roll footage of the University was well shot and relevant to the topic, the music also did a good job of establishing the tone and the connection to the type of documentary being parodied. The continuous shots of Bobby Boomerang interacting with students alongside the cameraman are well focused and shaky. But only shaky enough as the nature documentary requires, what with the ideal spur of the moment “Hey let’s record this thing we just stumbled across” feel of most good nature docs. The shaky-cam never got in the way of the comprehenisbility of any shots.
