Welcome to NMD 106 Intro to Time Based Media.
This course assumes no prior knowledge of Time based media, but also expects you to do whatever independent learning you need to do to achieve your desired level of proficiency. We will work with Adobe CC and we will also learn WordPress tools to enable you to use class assignments to update your New Media Portfolio.
Required Tools
You will need some key tools to succeed in this class. Below is a list of Required tools/resources.

• Class Wordpress site & account (use @maine.edu email), Login
• Class Slack account NMD106-2019 (use @maine.edu email)
• Moving Images: Making Movies, Understanding Media ($24-25 to rent as Kindle ebook until May 10, 2019)
• Kindle for Mac (or PC) to read class text above
• Adobe Premier Pro CC Online Tutorials
• Adobe CC student license: Premier, After Effects, Audition (use @maine.edu email) ($19.99/month)
• External hard drive to use as storage and scratch drive ($89)
• Video enabled smartphone–preferred (or borrow DSLR cameras from 129 Boardman, or IMRC equipment room)
• Youtube account for uploading video which you will then embed (not upload) to both class wordpress & your wordpress portfolio
