Given the current context this would be a feasible thing to pursue. Given that our topic relates to the subject of college education, we have a wealth of students and faculty that we could potentially interview for our Vox pop. If we encounter any students or faculty who are unwilling to participate, we still have many more who we could contact, so finding participants should not be too difficult. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think the scope of our topic is within reason. Our original idea of if a college education is working for the benefit of the students or not, is not too small a topic because in our current society most workers have some kind of college education so this can apply to a broad range of people. On the other hand, we\u2019re examining the topic of college education by analyzing if people agree or disagree with our initial statement. This scope should be well within our grasp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a potential mission statement for the project:\u2028\u2028The goal of this project is to ask the population of the University of Maine the central question of if they think a college education is working for the benefit of the students. Our goal is to interview students and faculty to get their opinion of the central question thus considering multiple sides of the argument.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In our current society people are becoming more aware of the reasons why we do things, and what the effect of those things might be. If a college education is becoming a requirement of society by examining what the population of a university think about the matter should shed some insight onto the idea of the university of a place of higher education, or if it has shifted into an entity more like a corporation. I have assumptions that students might agree with that description of college and I want to test that hypothesis. It will also be enlightening if the consensus of the students is different than my initial assumption. I hope that by creating this project we can use it as the start of a larger conversation about such an integral part of the lives of many young adults.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
