In the trailer of Locker Room, it describes the basic themes of the documentary. Bullying in high school. It provides enough information to tell you that it is a rather silent and gloomy film that relies on the actors’ emotions to convey the message. The fight. The computer scene. The locker room. It’s all important because it ties in what teenagers do through as individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When breaking down the film into sections, I would divide them as so:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The locker room scene when the main character encounters the boys. We get to see that the female main character associates herself with males and that those are her given friends. She cannot relate to them, only through sports and that seems to build a barrier between the group and her femininity. <\/li>
  2. Next is the scene where she sees the computer and looks through the messages in the group chat of what the boys have been rating the girls on. She then sees the video of them messing around with an unconscious female. She begins to realize that her male friends are not all what it seems. <\/li>
  3. Another scene is when she begins to put makeup on and change the way she looks. This ties into the aspect of when she walked into her friends room and her mother’s bras and underwear were on the bed. This makes her try to look more feminine and think that she is different than the other girls and that she is ugly. She tries to change herself. <\/li>
  4. The last scene that is the most important is after the fight and she loses all of her male friends for standing up for women and exposing the disgusting behavior of the boys, a girl approaches her and holds her as she cries. This is the beginning of a friendship and breaking the barrier down between her and her sexuality. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    There is no narration in this film. It mainly relies on the characters’ emotions and the way that they interact with certain scenes. There is some conversation that is necessary throughout the film and it helps convey the message without narration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The perspectives that are offered throughout the film range from body shaming and to the dense egos of teenage boys. The goal of the filmmaker is easily reflected throughout the film based on the way they convey the emotions and exactly reflect reality. Boys really do have these lists and ratings of girls and it is so messed up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
