The Defiant Ones<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Jimmy Iovine and Dr.Dre\u2019s overcoming the odds and becoming who they are now.<\/li>
  2. Interviews with Jimmy and Dre as well as with other famous artists they\u2019ve worked with like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Gwen Stefani and more. There if old footage of them working in the studio with these artists and also footage from the new and other sources of things that were going on in the world during that time.<\/li>
  3. First is when Dre and jimmy meet. This is important because they both saved each others careers and started bringing different types of artists into the music scene. The second would be when they both created the company Beats By Dre. This is important because they essentially branded themselves and attacked a different type of market for their same audience. The third moment would be when apple bought Beats By Dre. This is because it made Dre the first hip hop billionaire. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    B)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Jimmy and Dre\u2019s upbringings, The start of their careers, When Jimmy and Dre meet, when they create Dre beats, and then when they sell the company to apple.<\/li>
    2. In the transitional periods between the main sections they have interviews with artists that have been working with them for years and some of jimmy and Dre\u2019s friends and family to describe in their own words what was going on and essentially the stuff that was leading up to the bigger moments.<\/li>
    3. It doesn\u2019t have a narrator it has interviews that tie into each other and tell the stories of each of their lives.<\/li>
    4. The b-roll in the film is of older footage of them working and going to awards and meeting different people that they end up working with. It also contains footage of source awards that Dre was at and won, news footage and police footage and other b-roll created by the production team to give you a visual to what someone is saying when they don\u2019t have a perfect clip for it.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      C)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. The cinematography is dope. Each interviewee is set up in some aesthetically pleasing room and framed well. The way it\u2019s edited is what\u2019s most impressive. It incorporates music from the artists who have worked with one of them  the visuals are constantly entertaining. Not. Dull moment.<\/li>
      2. The pace changes depending on where they are in their lives. When talking about jimmy growing up the cuts are slower and the music is softer but when they\u2019re talking about the Rodney king riots that happened in LA no shot last more than 2-3 seconds and all the shots are mayhem all while Marylin Manson is playing in the background.<\/li>
      3. There is an alternative pattern that bounces from how they feel about music and certain things going on in the world and then more stories about their lives.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1.There are many different perspectives from many people they interviewed. If jimmy did something good or bad to or with a person they with him jimmy talk about it then the other person involved talk about it and then have other people who worked with jimmy but weren\u2019t involved talk about it. The filmmakers goal is to give the interviewees guidelines and things they want them to cover but give them some freedom to talk and it all works down a timeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        2. Observer. I think observer because it feels like all of the interviewees are just telling you a story from their perspectives. Doesn\u2019t feel like people getting interviewed as much as just telling you what\u2019s what.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        3. I think proper for the same reason I think the filmmakers are more observers. They interview many different people and get different perspectives on the same story so nothing is one sided.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
