Playing guitar and being outside are two of my favorite things, so it was really enjoyable to film and record.

I’m definitely most proud of how the voiceover came out. It seems to fit so well with the music in the background. The pauses fit really well with the entering and exiting of the music. I was also really proud of some of the shots we got. Some of them looked really great, like the one where I’m sitting between two trees.

I realized that making solo videos are a ton of fun to do, and way more entertaining/easier. Definitely going to be making YouTube videos in free time.

B.) Video Analysis

The shots in the video were fairly close up, some wide shots like me in the tree that capture my whole body, but most of the shots focus on the guitar. Since the guitar is the focus of the video that is why I made that decision. The shots vary quite often and thus the video doesn’t get boring. Shots are all in focus.

The voiceover dialogue provides a short story on the narrative of the film. The music supports the story and fits really nicely with the voiceover. The contrast in pitches makes it sound harmonious.

The pacing of the shots are around 5-7 seconds, so the cuts are fairly common and the video doesn’t get to bring because of it. All of the shots are in different places at different angles to add a lot of variances. Watching this a million times over I don’t think there are any jarring moments in the video, the transitions seem somewhat smooth.

I am completely satisfied with the video. One thing, however, if I could have raw audio from when I played in the garden be in the final project, I think it would make the video a lot cooler. But, it’s really hard to make cuts happen often when you’re playing music. So I just played over the track afterward on purpose to make it sound better.

A.)
