The man tries to help pull a pole out of the ground and seems to have a heart attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before they leave to go out and work the man is shown taking some sort of pill. (foreshadowing) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flag that is risen is changed once the boy is grown because of a different rule of power in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dog only listens to the boy in the beginning.
