Beginning Scene:

The setting has (music that makes the viewers feel nervous), very much like the character. Two girls walk through a set of doors, laughing and talking. Both girls are around the same height, one with long red hair and a colorful knitted hat, the other with shoulder length black hair, and a septum piercing. (Wide shot, showing mall doors and girls walking through them) (Two shot, shows the girls walking toward the tattoo shop)

“So are you nervous for your first tattoo?” asks the girl with the short black hair a kind smile on her lips. (Medium close shot of black haired girl) Redheaded bites the inside of her cheek and looks at her friend with a nervous look. (A close up shot on girl’s face, to show clearer emotion)

The red head shuffles her feet, as they make their way through the tattoo shop doors. (Camera switches to a full shot, showing girl shuffling feet against tile floor) (Music picks up, and audience hears a racing heart beat in the background slowly getting faster)

“Nervous but excited, I’ve been wanting to get a tattoo for two years,” says the red head quietly, as she shifts the purse strap on her shoulder. (Camera does panorama of Tattoo shop, and stops on a man with black rimmed glasses, and tattoos all over her arms, neck and sides of his head.) Dark haired girl smiles, and waves.

“Hey, David!” (Camera is from David’s perspective, shows the girls in front of the piercing and jewelry counter.) The dark haired girl turns back to her friend, as the redhead begins to take off her jacket and fumble to get her I.D. out of her purse. Her friend moves to help her, (Close up on hands, provides more emotion, like kindness and wanting to help).

“Let me help you,” grins the girl with the septum piercing and grabs her friends jacket, and sweatshirt, allowing her friend to be able to get her I.D. form her wallet. The redhead places her I.D. on the counter and David hands her some papers. (Close up on hands, shows girl grabbing pen, and shifting papers toward her). (Rock music is playing in the background). Girl shifts, standing to her tippy toes, allowing her to read and sign the papers properly. Redhead looks over to her friend with a nervous smile.

“I have to get on my tippy toes to see these papers!” she laughs and her friend joins in with a

“SAME!”. (Camera moves from redhead to dark-haired girl, before a two-shot of them from behind the counter).

Middle:

Red headed girl finishes signing the papers and hands them to the tattoo artist, who hands back her I.D.

“Congratulations! You signed your papers perfectly!” he chuckles trying to get the red head to smile, he succeeded as the redhead chuckles quietly.  (Camera switches from David, who has a kind smile on his face, and redhead laughing).

“Now just take the papers to the cash register over there and pay the other 35$ for your tattoo,” explains David as the redhead turns and makes her way to the cash register, fumbling with her phone. (Close up on hands, as girl struggles to unlatched her phone case from her phone. ) (Switches to dark haired girl) The dark haired girl has a look of confusion and slight amusement on her face.

“What are you doing?” she asks, her friend looks up from her phone, before switching her attention back to the phone case. (Medium shot of red headed girl)

“I’m trying to get the receipt from my phone case,”

“You don’t need your receipt” (Medium shot of dark haired girl, with confusion on her face)

“Yes I do, the cashier from Sunday said to bring it back, and give it to the cashier on the day of my appointment,” (Two shot, with the girls looking at each other)

“Oh, oops. I never did that,” laughs the dark haired girl, moving her friend’s jacket and sweatshirt in her arms. The redhead finally gets the receipt from her phone case and takes a few more steps towards the cashier, before placing the receipt on the counter and handing over some money. (shot of cashier taking money and giving redhead the change) The two girls thank the cashier and walk back to the tattoo area, and walk toward the tattooing chair. The dark haired girl takes a seat in a plastic chair, as the redhead sits in the tattooing chair, watching David move around, a increasingly nervous look on her face. She exchanges a look with her friend who smiles, and tries to calm her nerves. David sits in his rolling chair, the redhead places her arm out, showing where she wants the cross tattooed on her arm. (Wide shot of both girls and david, redhead pointing on her arm) As David prepares the stencil, and the area being tattooed. The redhead watches him closely, scared but also intrigued by the process. (Profile shot of girl looking down at her arm). David grabs his tools and gets ready, the redhead looks away, thinking of her friends warnings not to watch.

“Talk to me, or rather talk at me. I don’t know if I’ll be able to talk back,” the redhead laughs, and her friend nods as she starts talking about school.  (show redhead’s point of view, looking at friend). The redhead’s hand forms a fist, she thinks she’ll be able to deal with the pain better that way. (bird’s eyes view of fist tightening, as artist gets to work) (Close up on redhead, as she feels the the needle hit her skin) She flinches slightly, but keeps her jaw clenched, a look of determination in her eyes.  (Camera moves from the girl upward to suggest a passage of time)

“So what’s your major?” asks David and the redhead’s attention turns from her friend to him.

“I’m a New Media Major, so a mix of art, creativity and technology. I’ll be learning film, animation, coding, CNC machining and 3D printing etc,” explains the girl looking from the ceiling to the tattoo artist. David stops and looks at the red head and smiles once more.

“That’s pretty smart,”

“Thanks” she replies, as her focus goes back to the slight pain in her arm. (Bird’s eye view of him doing tattoo, spinning slowly, suggests time passing)

As the tattoo gun get closer to the elbow joint, the red head makes a uncomfortable face, but no noise escapes her lips. She glances at her friend, who notices her increase in discomfort. (camera shows close up of girl wincing in pain, and then to her friend who’s sitting quietly) The dark haired girl chuckles as, her friend mouths the word “fuck” to her, when the pain increases slightly.

‘You’re almost done,’ she mouths back, as the red head turns her attention to the tattoo forming on her arm.

“You’re doing great, a lot better than some of my other customers,” David chuckles, and the redhead replies.

“Well, I figured if I could jump out of a plane at 15,000 feet then I could get a tattoo. Now I have two things off of my bucket list,” (Swtich POV from David to redhead)

The tattoo gun touchs her arm once more, and the girl turns away, the last bit being the worst. (Switches from girl’s face, to the tattoo on her arm). David finishs, and begins to clean the area, as the redhead watches. (over the shoulder shot). The redhead and dark-haired girl exchange look, the dark-haired girl looks proud, while the redhead is beaming and chuckling quietly. (Music is upbeat, and exciting) David begins to explain the care directions for the tattoo, the redhead listening intently, before switching her focus to her friend, standing with her purse and coats. Once the bandage is put over the tattoo, the girls begin to leave, the redhead stops and turns back to David.

“Thank you so much!”  (Medium shot of girl, partially turned)

“You’re welcome, can’t wait to see you for your next tattoo,” he chuckles and the girl laughs before stating. (Camera switches to David moving around his workstation, to redhead: medium shot)

“I need to get some more money first,” the girls talk energetically before leaving the store. (final shot of girls leaving store, wide shot, camera is to girls backs)
