The Umaine Bestiary
1:
A: The Umaine Bestiary is a Mockumentary satirizing the daily life of a college student in a Steve Irwin esque animal study. If there is one thing modern college students have show to love it’s self deprecating humor, and an exploration/commentary on the strange idiosyncrasies of college life would speak to many of them. The inclusion of a loving parody of Steven Irwin’s signature style, something many of today’s college students grew up watching and loving, will no doubt add to the enjoyment.
B: To the Umaine students living in Balentine Hall, we the producers of The Umaine Bestiary request permission to use your dormitory, and with individual permission, your rooms to record our Mockumentary. This Mockumentary centers around a parody of daily life of college students and the use of organic sets like this are crucial. Any participation of students within the dorm is unnecessary but encouraged.
C: The goal of this project is to make a fun tongue and cheek satire/commentary on the daily lives of college students through the lens of a nature documentary via interviews with college staff and sweeping “Nature Doc Environment Shots” of dorm rooms and students passing between classes.
We will split up the group on the lines of Editor, Director, Script Writer, and Steve Irwin Guy. I personally would be fine doing wither Script or Steve but we will decide the roles in class Monday.
We will write the script over the course of next week, most likely begin filming after class Thursday March 6th, and hopefully finish recording on the 10th. Then all will be left to the Editor to finish the product by Friday the 15th.
