Group plan: Explore the dangers of winter weather on campus, and what role the school should play in alerting students to the dangers.
Topic is relevant, and there is enough to explore for a 5 to 7 minute film. From dangers of the cold, the school’s role, and student perspectives.
Footage around campus is easily accessible, interviewing students and volunteer ambulance is easily completed. Getting an interview the police department would require planning ahead but should not be a major issue.
The main goal of the project will be to explore the dangers of extreme weather, is this is too small, we can explore student opinions/experiences, and then the school’s role in advertisement, and preventative education.
Mission statement: We will educate the student body on the dangers of winter weather, and explore how seriously students consider dressing for the weather. Additionally we will look at the school’s role in informing the student body.
Subject- Dangers of winter weather, interviews will include student body, volunteer ambulance corps, UMPD, other health professionals at Cutler health center.
Objectives- To inform the student body in order to encourage healthy habits. In order to spread awareness, explore the real dangers, and reduce the risk of serious harm.
Timeline TBD, production should begin next week with the filming of b-roll, student interviews and establishing contact with UMPD, Cutler.
