Writing 2 – MaxH

A – Brainstorming

  1. I find many people interesting, however I do find the life of touring musicians very interesting. How much sleep do they get? What is it like performing? Drug abuse?
  2. There isn’t really any places that spark my interest for further exploration.
  3. One activity I’m constantly involved with is producing music. I go to class, play video games, eat, sleep, and make music. Pretty simple life.
  4. I’m not exactly sure what this question is asking, I don’t feel the need to investigate any of my peers actions.
  5. I am not familiar with any local economic activities.
  6. There is currently a debate over the new media program, which would make for a good video.
  7. There is no scholarly concepts I wish to investigate further.
  8. No, we do not have any footage linked to a person or topic.

B – Feasibility

  1. The topic is appropriate for our current situation. Our video will give insight on the New Media program.
  2. Yes, we can film around campus and set up interviews with people around campus.
  3. I think our topic is the perfect size. It’s not too broad, but not too small. It focuses on describing what New Media is or what it should be, and compares it to what other people think it is.
  4. In no way it this topic too big. New Media is a major at the University . of Maine. If we focus in on that, it will be the right size. However, if it were a documentary about the entire universe, then it would be too much.

C – Development

1 – Mission Statement

The objective of our video is to present viewers with enough information to form an opinion on the question “What is new media?” There is no concise definition of new media, which is why we are making this video. Apparently, the new media program is at stake of being cut from the school. This video will hopefully give insight to people and . save the program.

2

a.) Students, New Media professors, graduates, New Media students

b.) The reason we would like to make this project is simple. There is not really a good definition of the term “new media”, so we would like to see what other people think. We would also like to work on our interviewing skills, as well as bring light to the new media program and how people would like to get rid of it.

c.) Myself, Aaron, Owen, Aiden and Trystan will all be apart of this project, as well as who we interview. As of right now, we are unsure of who will do what.

d.) This documentary will be made on the UMaine campus.

e.) First, we will right out interview questions and collect B-Roll. Then we will find people to interview, take some shots, and edit.
