It did not take long for our group to come up with and agree on a subject for a documentary. We wanted to ask the question whether or not Universities benefit the student, or does the student benefit the University. In other words, does a university act more like a business with tuition rates rising yearly. We wanted to do this project because rising tuition rates are a persisting problem in this country, as well as the student debt rate. We wanted to ask this question as we felt many students would have opinions on this particular issue that they would like to voice. My group mates for this project were Will, Jared, Colby and Nate. Colby did the filming, Will did the editing and Nate was our interviewer. Since there were so minimal roles, Jared and I outsourced participants for our interview. We were able to recruit quite a few participants. For the setting of our interview, we were able to occupy a room in the union for a little bit while we conducted them. For the timeline of the film, we would show Nate asking our participants the question and all the footage that follows would just be a mix of their responses with some cheery background music.
