- I think a promotional video for the New Media department would be an interesting subject. As well as potentially useful seeing as the the major itself it apparently suffering. Make a promotional video that they could put onto the UMaine website to excite incoming freshman.
- Orono Brewing Company would be a good business for a promotional video. They recently opened up their new brewery. Would be a good way for them to get their new space out into the public. As the inside of the new place is pretty big and would make a cool video.
- The guitar club on campus could use a promotional video to get the word out for more possible members and for their open mic nights that happen upon campus. Could get some cool shots of the members shredding riffs and overlay some tunes.
- A antidrunk driving video would be an effective video. Possibly get some interviews with people who have been directly involved in a drunk driving accident.
- The UMaine hockey team. Make a video to get people to go see certain games and throw up ticket prices and plenty of shots of the mascot.
- A promotional video for Maine day and the concerts. Get people to talk a bout their previous experiences on Maine day and give the location and expectations.

- Going with the Orono Brewing Company idea, I’d say the sounds of the brewery itself could definitely be used in an effective way towards the video. The sounds of people gathered around drinking and having a good time could be used to give a positive feeling to the video. The sounds of beers being poured and bottle being opened would invite the idea to the viewer that they should get a cold beer from the brewery.
- I think the message would depend on the brew master. What they would want the important message to be for the video wether it be that the beer is made fresh everyday, that they have a new location, or just that people should make a visit. Would be up to the brewery and I think the message might get across to the audience best if the brew master him/herself said it in their own words. Adds authenticity to the video and keeps their local brewery image alive and away from the corporate image.
- The music would depend on the kind of shots involved. Action pours and slow-mos tend to go better with more up tempo feel good music. If there’s a lot of dialogue or group shots I think softer folk music would work better.
C)
- The ideal audience I would think, would be of age UMaine students. The locals would already know about it. The video would be best aimed at a younger audience, an audience thats more likely to come in with a larger group and order more than one or two drinks.
- The message is still the same it would depend on the brew master.
- The shot could open with a tell glass of beer in a glass with the OBC logo on it. A voice over of the brew master talking about what makes their beer special or maybe how the brewery started and how its grown thanks to the community and fans. While explaining the history you could show the old brewery from the street to show how small it was and then as he mentions the new building have a car drive through the frame allowing for a screen wipe that brings us inside the new brewery on a really busy night. Show shots of people in groups laughing and playing the games around the brewery (darts, ping pong, table soccer, etc). The music picks up as soon as the screen wipe happens. The voice over could describe how the beer is made in house and get shots of the employees actually making the beer. Mention the friendly staff and show them mingling with customers. Maybe to wrap it top the voice over could mention their appreciation of the community and then end shot could be a close up of a hand lightly slamming down the glass from the opening shot only this time its empty. And the voice could end by saying something along the lines of “ So come check out our new spot, you’ll be happy you did.”
