A. Brain Storming:

  1. School Organization: One possible idea for a client promotional video would be doing a short advertisement for a new course here at UMaine, for example the new projection mapping course that is being offered next semester.
  2. Business: An interesting client promotional video for a business might be doing a brief advertisement that helps Orono Brewing Companies new location this year get more visitors.
  3. Performing Arts: My roommate is a music performance major and they have junior and senior recitals that go for at least an hour long in which they practice an entire semester for. Often no one goes to these recitals because they are only students and don’t have the resources to advertise and make other students aware. It would be interesting to do a series of one minute advertisements for each student that has a recital so their hard work does not go unnoticed.
  4. Public Service: Directed towards an audience here at the University, a promotional video could be made to remind students when they need to start making their wish lists, meeting with their advisors, and enrolling in new courses.
  5. Sports: I think a promotional video could be made to boost attendance for any of the club sports teams.
  6. Other: I think an advertisement could be made for the community service club, Circle K. Not many people are apart of the club and the Kiwanis organization itself does a lot of good for communities and schools so I think students should be made more aware of their clubs.

Our project 3 team would like to propose that we be able to do a promotional video for the Late Nigh Local service here on campus. Late Night Local is transportation service run by Alpha Delta brothers and Gamma Sigma Gamma sisters. It is a van which runs on Fridays and Saturdays and offers free rides to students who seem stranded or look like they need a ride. Our team believes this is an important service to inform all students of because it is extremely helpful and beneficial for students that drink on the weekend however know not to operate their own vehicles.

We would like to include b-roll of the van itself, interviews of the drivers, and interviewers of students who have actually used it. Sound that would be included would include an energetic beat and the inclusion of dialogue from the interviews. We would also like to include a prompted, “Late Night Local, need a ride?” We believe that this will present the video as an advertisement and show the audience what to anticipate if Late Night Local were to offer a ride to them.
