For this final project I plan on using all of my skills that I know I have and acquire which are directing, cinematography, sound, and editing. For this project I know for sure that something I want to focus on is color correcting and balancing in editing. I want to edit the overall color of the film to be darker to accentuates the tone of the story which will start off sad and serious but may change in the end. Color is definitely a bing thing that appeals to me because it can affect the mood of an overall video as well as give the video uniqueness and something to look at. I can create this by focusing on lighting during production and afterwards in the color effects panel. My plan for this project is to film it while I am home for easter and have my sister be the main character. She recently had a big surgery which left a big scar on her back, I want that to be the main focus of the film with little to no dialogue. Focusing on just the natural sounds around her will emphasize how she is internally dealing with this life changing surgery, and how she will now re- learn to do certain things and learn how to love the scar. I want this to be somewhat dramatized so the impact is more powerful on the viewer.
I have somewhat of an idea of how I want to film these, I know for sure that I want to use a lot of close up shots focusing on her eyes, face, and scar. And many medium, wide shots. As for the story line I have a couple of ideas but I am mainly focusing on this part in her life. If I need more footage to extend the film my plan was to film myself acting as the older version of her dealing with the aftermath of the surgery and the insecurities it may bring while being a teenager. I am passionate about this because I want to do this for my little sister and to bring me closer to her.
