The proposed final project is a short film titled “french press”. The plot is that the main character is unwinding after a long day by making a fresh cup of coffee, but ends with them spitting it out because it tastes too bad. The shots are going to be extreme close ups, close ups, with some medium shots, of the equipment used to make the coffee. There will be a focus on the audio of this film with the sounds of the process being highlighted throughout the piece.

To use this as a project for 443 as well, there is going to be another layer to the project that contributes to a deeper story or meaning. Proposed ideas for adding deeper meaning to the film are adding glimpses into the main characters life, details such as why they need to unwind, such as relationship or work trouble, or just a general displeasure with the current state of the news in general. Additional details to add meaning would be to base the shots of the coffee brewing equipment on Japanese tea ceremonies or Ethiopian coffee ceremonies.
