Writing1-CoteC

The final class of the day ends at 4:00. I’m relieved but dreading walking outside. I take my first step out the door and feel hate for the cold. I walk 10 minutes with my face feeling pain and showing disgust. I arrive to my car and drive back to my dorm room. I walk up the steps, scan my card to get into the building and. my room and start to layout my homework that needs to be done. I finish the homework, check my phone, and the time says 9:00. The look on my face is surprised by how long I’ve actually been working. With nothing else to do I walk across the hall to my friend Mike’s room and knock and enter since he always leave his door propped open. As I enter I see him watching car videos on YouTube as always and I sit on the bed and watch with him. The video ends and we talk about cars some more like we usually do. I check the time on my phone again and  its 1:00. My face has a shocked look on it once again not believing how much time has passed. Me and Mike get bored and decide to go to Denny’s. Once again I walk back into the cold weather to get in his car and I have a look of disgust on my face once I realize his car is covered in snow and  its all frozen. Both of us use scrapers to get the snow and ice off and in the process I give him a hard time, jokingly, about how we wouldn’t be stuck in the cold if he took care of his car. He responds with a cruel joke and we go back and forth making fun of each other while scraping off the car. After scraping we have a look of relief, get in Mike’s car, and drive to Denny’s. On the ride there we made more jokes and laughed while blasting rap music until we pulled up to the restaurant. We step out of the car, walk in, and seat ourselves down and the waitress immediately gives us the menu. We contemplate and talk about what we think about getting, make our order, then feeling of excitement overcomes us when we see our big plates of food. We finish the meal and pay, walk back out to the car, then drive back to campus. Mike, being the car guy that he is, brings up an idea on our drive back and has a smile on his face while saying it. His idea was to go drifting and do donuts in the snow since it wasn’t plowed yet on the campus parking lot. I look back at him with a smile on my face agreeing that we should do that and then I come up with and idea saying that I’ll hang out the window while he drifts and I’ll record it. With a smiling look back at me he agrees as well. We arrive on campus and scout out an empty parking lot. I tell him, “This is it” and roll the window down and hang out the window as far as I can while getting ready to record. Mike revs the engine, takes his foot off the clutch, and the torque of the car puts a smile on my face. I hang out the window even further as he continues to drift and do donuts while I record myself and get a close up of the tires spinning the powder into the air. With the freezing cold wind in my face, I didn’t even notice it like I did previously. I didn’t dread the weather at all because I was in the moment of having fun so the cold didn’t cross my mind and the happiness on my face showed. I get back in the seat, show Mike the video I took which he said he loved, and he parked the car. We make our way back into the building, I check my phone again and it says its 3:45. This time me and Mike both look at each other in shock and decide to go to bed. I ask if I can sleep in his room and he agreed. I slept on his extra bed that his roommate used to use, submerge myself with blankets, and Mike cuts the light.
