Part 1

This quote to me describes how we change as a human civilization, with the technology of connection with and without wires. When i look at what Daniel Hillis is trying to say, the first thing that jumps in my mind is relationship. Why is relationship important to both individual groups? The reason for this is to understand where both are coming from, and whats the meaning within that puts it all together as one. As of looking at he internet and comparing to the human environment, you can see lots of problematic situations that have a purpose of some interaction of relation. As shown in this quote, when it says that the internet has changed the way we make decisions. I strongly agree with this in terms of the background of the internet with other technology’s, has stored all the thoughts, words, and meanings that have existed from beginning of time. With this information, its clear to say that the way we decide on something has multiple roads to follow or go on based on where your going or what your looking for. For this to happen the sources had to first come form individuals who defined knowledge, which then became a theory. With the information gathered, there was then a decision to be made by multiple network of humans to agree or disagree on the subject of matter. Next its displayed on the internet and any other technologies, which then gives it an ambiguous ideas, feelings, visions… with a unknown profile. In all, i see why the internet has change the way humans look at decisions making. Its because nobody knows what is right or what is wrong in both digital and human world. So therefore building relationships both online and off will have many meanings but its more reliable when the number is greater in all.

Some of insentience’s in my life before the exposure of the internet, was an interesting but more thoughtful process of what life really is. There was a time where growing up and time management was hard to keep on track. It was a time where phones had just began blowing up and everyone who jumped on the trend where far greater spot where i was in. So back in time when i was younger and playing all the sports as i did and parents being busy working, i can remember the struggle of not having a luxurious possession in my hands. It would always be at practices in the evenings where sometimes you didn’t know if practice would end early or go onto overtime. So one day, a time was when soccer practice ended early, and i had no way of communicating back to my parents telling them to pick me up because the time got shifted a little. So with no phone near or anything, i had to wait it out until the actual time practice would end typically. With it ending an hour early i wished i had that piece of technology when the time was right. Although i did have some decisions that i could have made which ties good with quote. So instead of waiting all of the time i began to walk to building where i saw people just getting out of their program that just had finished. As everyone was leaving i went over and had to ask politely to get a ride home so, i would be in the dark alone and cold waiting for my ride. So with interaction and decision making between others i found a ride to go home without a cell phone. So that was a life before any major technology was out there to really be a useful tool to get bye. Now everyone pretty much owns or has access to a cell phone that could of made this situation easier. With also including ubers and lifts that are very popular for that kind of problems to easily solve in matter of seconds.

When technology started to advance as time went on, with growing in a new generation of new way to simplified way of getting where you wanted was a lifesaver. The best way for myself to see a change in different eras with advancement in the internet side along with a strong network progressively moving forward, is to look back in the days of education system in school. I can remember the time that i started my education off with using simple tools, for intense everything in a classroom in my early days where pen and paper. When i look back i even noticed that the teachers didn’t have any short of laptop, tablets or even phones. With moving up in grades and years increasing you saw more people technology in everyone’s surroundings. Which meant change in ways of teaching and more options to be had. As of today anywhere you go and do involves a device of some shorts to choose from. Which is so beneficial to have but it has made a change in my life as well, with the things i try to test out. For example in the past i have mostly used to take notes on pen and paper, but as the new age is here i have shifted my way to go paperless. Why I decided to do this? Because more and more people are now on the network, so its overall so easy to connect and use with others. I see the change because of how much adaptation is needed to follow the path to of being on the same page with technology, because of what you can do with the tools that will have an impact in life. Its a decision i believe is critical for each individual to take a look at and see what best fits for them. So change is happening everyday with new invitations, but what i find important is how it can be useful the impact it can make.

I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BECAUSE OF THE INTERNET by Bruce Hood

This has come about because of a blog campaign by like-minded skeptics who have used the Internet to draw attention to what they consider to be questionable business activity. This would have been very difficult and daunting in the pre-Internet days and not something that the ordinary man in street would have taken on. In this way, the Internet can empower the individual through collective campaigns.

In this situation i found exotic parts where change was distributed positively in just by sharing common beliefs and options. This is something i have witness myself and other times where things where hard to reach and share among everyone. With the internet beginning such a powerful but life changing tool its has become, its not a question to not try to make a change on what you want or have and idea about. Its one of many things everyone should take a advantage of when the have the feeling of making a difference in areas that needs to be. For that it leads to more versatile connections with both the real world and the online world, that can change history for the better as shown in the passage that was put together a stand of what is the meaning overall. Today i see this happening a lot with new ideas and people putting them self’s out to create a profile to make a difference or to just have a source that best realest to what is for the better on a cretin subject in matter. A similar example related to this that i see great change in today world is organisations and individuals coming together to make a quick change with a problem. With internet so limitless in so many ways, people have found ways to make a difference by just creating an event or charity to help those in need of it most. Once its published like a blog and people getting involved, there is no stop to it but to advance further. If the internet wasn’t around to gather things, people, and instances then the world would be in a different place to create change. Therefore technology is a superpower that can either save the world or destroy it depending on what the use is presented to everything its applied to a simple thought in mind.

1000 HOURS A YEAR by Simon Baron Cohen

When i read this passage, i really looked at the factual statements of what those hours really meant to a everyday life circumstance. This was very morbid to find out why it was so demanding to have all that time spent on a suck a task that important to involve in. In terms of finding out of what is the meaning of spending time with the activity in hands. As of looking at the statistics of this person spending that amount of time doing something that was important in everyday research in order to keep up, i tried to come to the purpose of why it’s significant in all the possible ways. The first part i focused on was the time it was spent. For 1000 hours a year looks like a lot, but it raised me a questions to follow up with it. Like how much involvement in your life has surrounded to give all these numbers piling up to have time be significant enough to change the lifestyle? WIth also the idea of the fact that the technology is there, so spending those hours is changed in a way that it’s better than what was when technology was not implemented yet to make life simpler. I saw this and related this to when life was with email and without emil. In the days with no email it was a different story, by categorizing who you where and what was happening. If you were more of an importance or had a connection in a way there was a difference to be seen. For this you can tell that the important the person you were like a present or a celebrity you would get mail all the time as of the majority of people whose importance was less significant got less. Which then brings the realisation of how much time it was spent dealing with the information that was being disputed. Which was really difficult in the time of no email because it would first take ages for the email to reach to the other end and have a reply in matter of seconds. Now looking at the tool we have with email coming to everyone’s lives, it brought change to everything. You can say with email the hours spent with email in your possession is so much faster to process then a physical copy. So instead of 1000 hours of email a year, you would probably look at a very big number if email was not around today. Time is crucial and with the amount of information sent and the people its calling can really make email balanced to everyone’s lifestyle in which they are apart off. Therefore i see 1000 hours a year as a long time, but without email time is something that is valued in another level.
