“The Internet has changed the way we make decisions. More and more, it is not individual humans who decide but an entangled, adaptive network of humans and machines.”  (W. Daniel Hillis  229)

This quote is particularly interesting to me, mainly because I grew up and am living in the age of technology and the internet. The development of my life was so intertwined with the development of the internet, it took me a while to realize how involved it had become. For most of my life I didn’t even look at it from an outside perspective, and understand the rapid change this technology was bringing upon our society. Since the widespread sales of smartphones across the world, the ability to use the internet and cameras to retain information became better than ever. The internet works with so many different machines and robots to solve problems with technology in ways that wouldn’t seem possible 20 years ago, most importantly our phones and computers which we use to solve nearly every daily problem we encounter. It’s going to be interesting to see how our brains develop in the future under these brand new circumstances.

I am now able to see the state of the world we live in and the potential future we are creating for ourselves. We are becoming intertwined with the technology of the internet in ways we aren’t even realizing. The internet is now becoming a web of information, on everything including each individual. This is not information widely accessible to the public, but information owned by the companies who were creators of some of the largest and most important tools on the internet. The web is able to profile any individual and control what they are viewing and potentially persuade their actions strictly through social media or advertisements.
