I notice that more of my time is spent in words and language— because that is the currency of the Net—than it was before. ( Brian Eno p. 126).
Words have more power than actions on the internet because only one can travel well.
Before the internet I had to meet everyone I knew face to face, physically see them to form any connection. If a friend moved away, it became exceptionally hard to see them anymore and to maintain a friendship. My social life was completely dependent on my physical location.
But on the internet I met others, my friends Sebastian and Aidan from Virginia, people I’ve never seen or talked to face to face I’ve gotten to know well over the last two years because the Internet has connected us, though through this ease of connection I feel less inclined to meet with people in the physical world. It’s become easier and easier to indulge in my more reclusive introverted tendencies than ever before.

Title: Take Love
Author: Helen Fisher
Summary: Helen believes that as of now technology has not changed how humans think or even act all that much, but instead have given us the tools to go about practices that we’ve abandoned in yesteryear, such as our old dating habits.
Title: Cut and Paste
Author: Fred Tomaselli
Summary: The internet has given artists like him access to resources and audiences he never dreamed he could have but puts physical art in a precarious position between beloved commodity and obsolete trash. He is also worried about the massive amount of information the internet gives us at once is more then person can healthily take in at once.
