Part 1.
Brockman, John. Is the Internet Changing the Way You Think? (Edge Question Series) . HarperCollins e-books. Kindle Edition.
In my opinion, the internet is changing the way that we think. We feed the internet and they provide us with easy access and allow us to do anything quickly. We tend to multi-tasking more and did not realize that we became distractible. Why is that so? I feel like the answer to this question is how we use the internet to satisfy ourselves. This makes us distractible because we tend to change our subject or something that we do quickly if it is not something that satisfied us. For example, I watch the music video online and I did not actually like it. then, I just change it! However, imagine if we have to go back to the past and to get something change that quickly is difficult. Our generation gets bored with stuff that we do faster than our past generation. Is that because we get used to this kind of satisfaction?
I would go with a simple memory of myself before the internet. I wanted to buy a chair for my study room. So, the one thing that came into my mind was that I would talk with my dad and we go shopping at a furniture mall. We would look at the sale promotion or the selling poster of that furniture mall. But with the internet, I would think the same thing but also I can decide to buy it online or even select so many different models that available and get it to shift to my house. This is something that I feel the internet changing many decisions that I would make.
In conclusion, I feel that it is important on how we make use of the internet and be aware of information providing by the internet. In the future, things would go even faster, smarter and, we all might not realize how we think and what actually makes you think.
