Overall, Artificial Intelligence is inevitably going to (if it hasn’t already) become a large supporter to the average humans daily tasks. In which, poses the large fear and question of what line needs to be crossed to consider the tech world to have gone too far. This a largely discussed topic that seems to not yet have one set answer.

Written in Forbes Magazine, is an article on the controversial topic and is titled “13 Mind Blowing Things Artificial Intelligence Can Already Do Today” by Bernard Marr. Here, is just some of the broad already functioning AI features that really do make one just imagine the current occurrences happening and most importantly- future possibilities. Sensing abilities that the average human holds, can now be mimicked and fully imitated by robots. For example, under the fourth example labeled “Hear and Understand” an AI device is mentioned that has the ability to “detect gunshots, analyze the sound, and then alert relevant agencies” (source place). Here, this could be translated into a positive contributor since this is securing human safety, but still leads the question to how far will it go? An even more concerning feature is the ability for AI robots to understand emotions. It is explained that research in the marketing world is being assisted by Artificial Intelligence tools that are able to track one’s emotions by collecting data from specific interactions they make with technology.

“Market research is being aided by AI tools that track a person’s emotions as they watch videos. Artificial emotional intelligence can gather data from a person’s facial expressions, body language, and more, analyze it against an emotion database to determine what emotion is likely being expressed, and then determine an action based on that info.”- Bernard Marr (Forbes Magazine 2019)

Here, is where I believe the questioning of AI can particularly arise. A large portion of society believe it to be considered unethical to merge human emotions with things such as AI robots. Now, each individuals reasoning could vary, but after reading into multiple articles on Artificial Intelligence and the effects I have come to a large and vague conclusion- that is ultimately open to interpretation.
