EXERCISE 1: WHICH IS THE NEW MEDIA SOLUTION?

PROBLEM: A DISAPPEARING LANGUAGE

I feel like solution A is the better option as it would actually preserve the spoken and dictionary language of the Passamaquoddy. This solution would generate a ‘crowd sourced’ many to many strategy with an online data base of the language.

PROBLEM: NEGLECTED RUINS

Solution B seems like the better option for this media distribution. While this may be a one to many strategy it could easily encourage people to explore these abandoned places, and take a look through the eye of a photographer.

PROBLEM: MISUNDERSTANDING COMPUTER ANIMATION

Solution B is the better option. This option allows the users to learn at their own pace about how to create an animation and ensure they have all of the tools essential ‘mobilizing’ the users.

PROBLEM: A BROKEN FOUNTAIN

Solution A is the better option. This option creates a sense of community and allows a lot of people function with a lot of people for a communal benefit for the campus.

EXERCISE 2: INVENT YOUR OWN MANY-TO-MANY SOLUTIONS

STUDENT FILMS ARE ALWAYS SET IN DORMS

How can you help filmmakers find better locations for their videos?

If I were to approach this I would look at why the students are just using dorms. It could be beneficial to ask the students they need to film in newer areas and explore how the setting of their films can improve the quality. The other option is to have a community room on campus that has many props that can be donated by the community, and this building could have multiple settings for film students to explore and use as settings for their films. The room could be used for a bedroom,  or it could be used for the white house depending on the furniture and the editing.
