Hari talks about the effects of depression and how they effect cultures across the world. He talks a lot about how having freedom and feeling like you are in control has much better mental health effects than feeling as if you are an underling just following the rules. A lot of the video focuses on Kotti, a town with many interesting stories. Many people in the town rally behind one of the residents who was about to be evicted. She was depressed and announced that she was going to commit suicide, and the community came together with her and helped give her support. She realized that a lot of people care about her and she didn’t feel alone. These people also became a movement of sorts, and created a kind of protest group and ended up getting what they wanted through political activism.
