The economy I chose was the anonymous app Yikyak. It exists on anyone’s phone that allows them to download apps (a smart phone). Values that are exchanged in this economy is yakarma and information. The more upvotes and comments you receive, the more yakarma you receive. However, if you receive downvotes, some yakarma gets taken away. It depends on the region you’re in on how many people you will interact with. But Yikyak is across the globe. You are connected to people at a max of 5 miles away. It’s hard to tell how many people can be in this economy until it broke, but apps crash all the time. There’s pros and cons to this economy. Anonymity is both a pro and con. You can say what you want without being identified, unless someone knows who you are based on your emoji pfp (but you can change it whenever you want). There is some healthy aspects to Yikyak but there are definitely a lot of toxic aspects as well. It solely depends on how well you can take criticism for the things you say, even if it’s anonymous.
