Task 10 – Meme – ‘Blissful Ignorance’

This first meme gives a good representation of what it’s like to live an everyday life as an individual in our age group. Although cynical, I believe it portrays a good message in a goofy way. Seeming how our society is based on outrage and cancelling whatever the next best (worst) thing is, i.e. Kanye West at the moment, I thought it was funny to see the polar opposite of that outrage mindset, which is of course, the ‘chad’ persona, who doesnt care, as long as it doesnt affect him. “Hell yes, the sun’s out again”, he states in blissful ignorance.

This second meme is my subtle recreation of the already simplified original. This time using the “unbearable weight of the boulder we are constantly pushing through life” template, as opposed to the Nerd/Chad template. However, I think it conveys somewhat the same message. The boulder simply being held up by the man with no other choice but to carry that weight, looking upwards and outwards, creating his own reality. “sun’s out today woooo” he again, states in blissful ignorance.
