Task 7 – Parker Gray

My Design consists of a regular looking product barcode scanner. Powered by its own algorithm based techniques to distinguish AI generated artwork from human-generated artwork. Using infrared lighting that sends pixel information to a cloud server, sending back a result of “AI-Generated” or “Human Generated” based on whether or not the piece being scanned is an authentic piece of human artwork, or AI generated.

My criteria was attention based. This product can be used to authenticate certain pieces of artwork, ending the conversation of AI artwork not being classified as art, instead segregating the concept into a genre, as opposed to canceling it altogether.

The scanner could be used in competitions, museums, and other places in which artwork is submitted. I believe the fine arts world would benefit from this, not only because the segregation of the two genres does not necessarily berate AI generated artwork, but instead, invite it to the world of fine art, under conditions backed by the community, that being the authentication.

On a more green-thumbed note, this product would be crafted from 3D-printed materials, recycled from other products in manufacturing. However, Motherboards do constitute rare earth metals. It would be a major point made in the marketing for this product, that our metals used in our motherboards would be safely acquired and manufactured through no harm to customer nor employee. However, I can imagine the software used by the device would cause a few headaches to invent, let alone test.
