Problem

A lot of our time is spent on phones for all kind of media platforms swapping or scrolling through other people’s portfolios, entertainment and other news. Which can be very addictive and self centered that you lose the outside connection with the real world.  Always needing to go to your phone for entertainment and get away from the importance things. We waste a lot of time that we could use that time to do a lot of things instead that may help us grow as a person, learn something new or enjoy the beautiful nature. Our Social media, media in the news, and entertainment media have been the taking to much time out of our world and ourselves.

I have seen all media on the phones from social to news and entertainment platforms controlling everything you see, think, and do. Which i believe is true, as i am guilty myself for using an excuse to get away from reality to see what’s happening, focusing on what others are doing and saying, and getting addicted to virtual worlds. It doesn’t feel healthy or productive at all to consume all this content for long periods of time. That may bring mental health problems, personal ego that you always worry about, and limit your knowledge of the world. It detaches from the important things in life that takes your time and values away.  So, how can we limit usage on phones for better activities, learn something new, and grow as a person?  Well i think It’s all about creating a platform that sets a positive, usful, active place for people to set their tone for their day to be more proactive but valuable. Which you can share it with others to get a better social experience, use the tools to do something creative, and live in reality that life opens up for so many options to choose from.

Redesigning

The first thing we need to look at is, what are the major contributors platforms that take our time and self away from the important thing in life? Well i decided to look at 3 platforms that could be reset for a better a social and media experience.

1. instagram 2. News 3. Mobile games

Instagram – A media platform that is spent too much time looking at others, looking at yourself what people think about you and a like follow rating system. All having a “non-social” aspect in their representation. Looking at others which doesn’t always involve yourself in the picture. Worrying too much about your views and others, that makes you always try to fit in making you antisocial. Ending with likes, comments, and follower ratings, which if your rating is low, you don’t get to be even seen but just get scrolled over or swiped down.

News and Politics – News and politics have always been taking up time in peoples schedule with information that always seems to be there the next day. Little clickbait snapshots that bring you to the smaller picture, which there is way more interesting knowledge you could be retaining.

Mobile Games –  A very fun platform for entertainment, which can be addicting enough to keep playing for hours and hours on. You play the same game over and over again, with also adding microtransactions that make you broke and depressed. Your not really “Mobile” as it always seems to be sitting down and playing the game. WIth that you don’t get to see the real world and nature around you that no real pixel from a mobile game can ever draw onto the screen of life.

The Design

The plan to redesign a media platform is to combine all of instagram, news, and mobile games into one app. For a beneficial excuse to go on your phone for self development that is fun to enjoy every time. To have good use for your time in the things that you value the most, to progress in life. Which i decided to design the app called  Media,  or “me” for myself and media referring meeting in the “Middle” which means balance.  A media app that balances self and technology in one for the good and bad. To be able to use your phone to waste your time, but promotes a social, impactful, and fun experiences.

Media Interface – You get to choose one of 3 media platforms you want to use

InstaTag – Redesign of instagram, byt more social interactive. You can browse a pictures or someone else’s picture find something cool, funny or creative ,inspiring, etc. Tag them to the post if it makes you think of them or you want to see it. You can use “add” to the photo, by eiting however you like or want your friends to see what you created. Or you can colappertate together and make a multiple people artpeace. When you finished you can share it or “tag” it for others to join in too to rate the best picture mixes.  This Design allows to tag others to join in the picture than just look at someone else’s feed and not having any part of being in the picture. Next the add feature that allows to be free and do your own thing or do it the person you tagged or a group even, to being social and working together to create something that everyone gets to be apart off. It opens up to more about the picture than looking at yourself and trying to add features that may not display your true self. Finally you can share your posts and tag it to a community to rate the best mix ups or tag it out in the open to for others to have the opportunity to have their own fun also. This fixes the likes, comments, and followers ratings that puts anyone the least favorite and never see again, to see by everyone and have the chance to get more people to join in, no matter the number but the creativity to make something awesome.

NewPoll – Is a media platform that is designed to learn, voice, and change for the greater good. This boosts up proativite and can build yourself to be more than a bystander that changes the world and is highly knowledgeable. The “New” feature is to learn something new that you didn’t know before or heard. Its new because every time you log in and choose new, you get something new to learn. Next you have the Poll reature which is, a way to vote on current problems and join in with other people and see what they think off. Its to see the important stuff that needs improving on and a public voice, that spreads around quicker and unite everyone to join in. No One has any higher up or is lower, but just balanced and fair. Finally “raise” tap which is a way to feel good about yourself and to help out. To raise money and fix problems that get more people to make a world a better place. You could take something that you found needing addressing from the Poll tap and create a fundraiser for it that is for a cause and makes your time worth spending, because everyone benefits for, helping or spreading the word. This fixes the news and politics we turn our attention at, which is like a ad that never stops repaeting the same thing and does not bring much to value. Don’t really learn anything about criticizing other people, or feeling sorry that you read a news about a hurricane destroying millions of homes but not contributing to help. Its all an ad to distract you from what the real world problems are and the important things you should listen to.  My design does the opposite, learns what’s new and current, brings people to awareness with how people feel around the world to hear and see their voices. We vote to because we see a problem or need to change and add to the topic, which the result becomes true, so to fix the problem or answer the question faster you can raise it and make a change.  Take action on doing more for yourself or listen in to purchase less time for yourself.

YoNature – Yo nature or “hey nature” i am ready to go outside and explore nature! This is a Design that’s a game, but uses the real world and environments to be played. This game is a platform that allows people to go find cool treasure hidden all over the world to explore. Expending the game to be play at all kinds of levels, which are challenges ranging in difficulty to try and solve the puzzle. This opens up so much entertainment to be have because every time it’s a new game that leads you to a new experience and memory you may make. You never know what your going to find but that’s the fun of it! So it opens up the outdoors and enables you to play the game how you want it to go, with you ability to make your own little game that people can play. If you found something cool you can @ people to check it out as well, to experience the same fun that you had. Connecting people, places and nature for the good, with no cost to play, but a possible change to get lucky and find money. This replaces mobile games because they aren’t mobile at all, which the game gives you all the mobility and exercise you need to never sit down again. Which also doesn’t give you the best graphics but YoNature does with the ultra realistic graphics that seem too real to be real with powered by Gps. So every time you seem bored just hit up YoNature to set you on your way to a full entertaining experience. A game that is made by people, for the people than made by a studio for people to spend hours getting addicted to spend their money on virtual worlds that don’t exist. With no freedom to play the game how you want to play or even be part of the game.
