I chose principle 10, use and value diversity. I chose this principle because I think the message it conveys is really meaningful and applies to everything. From what I’ve gathered to use and value diversity is to use as many diverse resources as possible because if something doesn’t work out, or you’re having difficulty, often a second opinion and somebody to bounce ideas off of can be very beneficial. You can see examples of this everywhere in nature. One species isn’t tasked with sustaining an entire ecosystem, they all play their part. Bees pollenate plants, deer eat plants, predators like wolves regulate the deer population. No one thing can take on everything and I think that’s where the importance of diversity comes in. A quote I found that conveys this perfectly is.
The logo I made represents people all over the world coming together. I’ve been thinking about it and I found a quote that I think describes the principle very well and its, “No culture can live if it attempts to be exclusive” – Mahatma Gandhi.
