The first thing that came to mind when thinking about “small and slow steps” was something that had to resonate with nature but also have the functionality of some technology. Instantly I thought of a tap in a tree harvesting sap. I have very minimal illustrator experience, so there definitely was a learning curve to get over… and still is. I tried to keep it simple, but still have constancy’s. The white that I used to to add light on the sap drop, I also added to the letters to add the same effect. I used the cut tool to add root like cracks within the circle to add more to the blank space, but also still feel natural. My principle was the “Small and Slow Steps” one. Obviously the idea of sap being tapped is a long and slow tedious process.
