I chose this principle because it is vital to the preservation of the environment and nature in many different ways. There are many adverse consequences of improper waste management including contamination of air, soil and water pollution, and also animal deaths caused by the ingestion of humane waste. In the long run, the effects of these factors lead to a pushback on not only the existence of wildlife, but also the human population. Needless to say, bacteria and viruses will thrive in areas of vast waste production, causing a major threat to the health and well being of human nature. Aside from the health defects, waste also smells bad, takes up space, attracts pests and rodents, and can cause injuries and damage. For example, shards of glass from a beer bottle being left on the street can pop somebody’s tire, or cut somebody’s foot if stepped on. To avoid the production of waste we must not only build a stronger pact around the fight against waste production and spread more awareness on the preservation of the environment, but also take an active part in avoiding to produce waste and managing it in cleaner ways. All in all, the production of waste as a global issue worsens the environment and living space for everybody, including plants and animals. Generating waste which accumulates over time only worsens the sustainability of the planet earth, and should be seen as a global issue that everybody should take part in improving before it’s too late.

The logo I created consists of a pot with soil and a plant growing from it. The pot also has a recycling symbol on it. This symbolizes the effects of recycling,(the plant growing) and promotes the idea of reduce, reuse, and recycle.
