Task 1- Kate Mackey

I chose permaculture principle number 9, “Use Small and Slow Solutions”. My logo is a small snail in a circle with sunbeams coming off the shell and a small road dotted line inside its shell. My colors can be almost anything whether that be black and white or colorful, I show two different color schemes in my featured image. I chose this principle because I believe that it is important to approach issues with a slow and calm mood or energy. To make any type of change as well starting small and slow is almost always the best way to start. When your start slowly and think through your decisions you are more likely to make the correct one. In nature, great changes happen over long periods of time, such as evolution. It takes a long time to perfect something which is why nature is constantly evolving. The short phrase and one sentence description I would like to use is “slow and steady explosions have a greater impact”.

Explain your logo in 1-2 paragraphs. Why did you choose the principle? What does it mean in nature? How could it be used to make tech more humane? What short phrase will help designers remember it?

Finally, create a one-sentence description of that principle for the logo you created. It can be similar to the original principle, though it would be interesting to see it applied specifically to a tech context.
